elcome, dear friends of protection, control and electrical engineering. Today we present you a little revolution. One of the biggest weaknesses of self-powered protection relays is the switiching-onto-fault-protection. This means that if, in the worst case, an existing short circuit is switched on directly, each relay first has to start up and triggering is delayed for an undesirably long time. Stop it.
The new WIC1 releases its tripping command in less than one mains cycle when connected to a high-current short circuit. This is a uniquely fast solution that works much faster than all comparable relays and even current airbags. A normal steering wheel airbag already needs 20 to 30 ms to ignite and is fully inflated after 55 ms at the earliest.
Further highlights are:
๐ Configurable Inrush Protection
๐ ANSI 50/51, 50N/G, 51N/G, 46, 49, 74TC, 50BF, ExtP, SOTF, PVOC
๐ Compact formfactor (same as before)
๐ Super fast mounting
๐ Super fast setting
๐ Early wake up currents
๐ Super fast Peak Value Overcurrent (including boot up time)
๐ Best in class SOFT (Switching onto Fault)
With the now available 2nd generation of the WIC1, SEG Electronics is enhancing its previous successful model. We'll have a relay on our hands soon, and we'll be unveiling the 2nd Gen WIC1 in full then.
